The successor to the Vivo Y300 Pro could launch rather sooner than later. XpertPick has already obtained a first picture and some key specs of the upcoming mid-range smartphone. Apparently, Vivo has modernized the design with a pill-sheared camera bump and a curved display. However, there also seem to be some downgrades compared to the previous model.
First and foremost, the battery could have a capacity of just 5,500mAh, although it might charge faster with up to 90 watts via USB-C. Vivo has reportedly opted for a 32MP selfie camera and a 50MP main camera based on the Sony IMX882. Similar to the predecessor, the Vivo Y400 Pro lacks an ultrawide or telephoto lens and sports a secondary camera sensor with just 2 megapixels. That said, an LED ring could provide lighting for portrait shots.
Purportedly, both the front and main camera can record 4K video. Furthermore, the 6.77-inch AMOLED display now offers an HDR peak brightness of 4,500 nits, which is 10% less than on the Y300 Pro. However, the new smartphone is powered by the more modern MediaTek Dimensity 7300, which is 6% faster than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 found in the predecessor. The smartphone is expected to launch with 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of mass storage. Lastly, it will be available in white, gold and purple, but the release date is still up in the air.
