Galaxy Z Fold 7 real-world images show off impressively thin body

Multiple renders gave us a decent idea about what Samsung had in store with the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Now, we have a look at it in the real world, and the foldable is undoubtedly thinner than its last-gen counterpart. And it won't be long before we know its dimensions, as the smartphone is set to debut in a few days, on July 9.

X leaker Jukanlosreve has shown off the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in mint condition, with the protective plastic and everything. At the back, we can see a notable camera bump with three vertical camera modules. The primary screen's hinge is unfortunately covered by plastic, so it's unclear how visible it will be compared to older models.

Lastly, the phone is visibly slimmer than the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Exact dimensions are difficult to determine, but an earlier leak stated that it would be 4.2 mm (0.17 in) when unfolded and 8.9 mm (0.35 in) when Galaxy Z Fold 7 is shown here, which looks a lot like the dummy unit shown off earlier, tacitly confirming it is the real thing.

Sadly, the sleek chassis may come at the cost of battery capacity. Apparently, the Fold 7 will keep its predecessor's 4,400 mAh battery. An IP68 rating may also be off the cards, as it has been downgraded to IP48. A higher ingress protection rating is essential for a foldable because it has moving parts that are more susceptible to damage.
