Xiaomi braided USB-C cable for up to 240W fast charging launching globally

Xiaomi has listed a new braided USB-C cable on its global website, pointing to an international rollout in the future. Officially named the 6A High-Speed USB4 Braided USB-C to USB-C Cable (1m), this accessory is already available in China.

The Xiaomi 6A High-Speed USB4 Braided USB-C cable is said to provide up to 240W power with support for PD 3.1 fast charging and Xiaomi HyperCharge 120W. It is also compatible with the USB4 Gen 3 protocol for an up to 40 Gbps data transfer rate. When used to connect a laptop and monitor, it supports up to 8K@60Hz video transmission.

As its name suggests, this coaxial cable has a durable, dark gray braided outer and is 1 m (~3.3 ft) long. According to Xiaomi, it can withstand over 10,000 bends and has been shown to withstand over 100 N force in tests.

Xiaomi has yet to announce when the 6A High-Speed USB4 Braided USB-C to USB-C Cable (1m) will launch globally, and in which countries it will be sold. As a guide on price, it retails for CNY 129 (~$18/€15) in China. Plus, the older Xiaomi 6A Type-A to Type-C Cable is available for €14.99 in European countries like Germany. Whether or when alternative lengths or colors ways could arrive remains to be seen.
