New affordable Xiaomi power bank debuts with built-in display and cable

There's a new portable charger in Xiaomi's accessory lineup, the Xiaomi Power Bank 10000. As the name suggests, it has a rated capacity of 10,000 mAh, which makes it capable of charging most phones from 0% to 100% at least once with some juice left.

When it comes to the charging speed, the new power bank is rated for 45 W fast charging. It can self-charge quickly as well, with Xiaomi highlighting the input power maxing out at 30 W. Another highlight of the unit is its built-in USB-C cable, which sits flush on the side.

In addition, there's one USB-C and one USB-A port (10-feet 240 W USB-C cable curr. $13.99 on Amazon). This three-port configuration allows the power bank to charge three devices at the same time. While Xiaomi hasn't specified all the supported protocols, it notes that the charger is compatible with many different devices, including low-power accessories like a smartwatch.

Xiaomi also highlights the built-in screen of the power bank. However, it appears that the display can only show the internal battery percentage and charging statuses. Among the other notable aspects are a compact form factor, availability in four colors, and a 9-layer safety mechanism.

The introductory price of the 45 W Xiaomi Power Bank 10000 is CNY 179, around $25. After the crowdfunding stage, it will retail for CNY 199 in China, which is about $28. There's no word on when the portable charger will make a global debut.
