Samsung is thought to launch the Galaxy F16 5G soon, as it has now appeared on a widely-used database of smartphones in advance of this event. The device has also popped up on Geekbench with the same SoC as the theoretically cheaper new F06 5G, although it might be higher-end in other ways.

Samsung has opened its Galaxy F-series account for 2025 with the most entry-level 5G smartphone of the line. The next device to launch after that will probably target the next tier up, as it is thought to launch as the F16 5G rather than the F06 5G.

Both smartphones might have the same processor nevertheless, according to a new leak. It consists of a Geekbench leak with the F16's rumored model number (SM-E166P) and an SoC with the same up-to-2.4GHz speeds and Mali-G57 GPU of the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC.

The "F16" does have 8GB of RAM in that leak, as opposed to 6GB in the F06, at least. It is also still on Android 14, thereby giving even more of the impression that it will have a lot in common with the Indian version of the Galaxy A16 5G (now available on Amazon.in) when it does come out.

The F16 5G has also most recently been spotted by name on the Google Play list of Supported Devices, thereby hinting that it will indeed be here very soon.
