Samsung Galaxy F06 5G launches with MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and a 5,000 mAh battery

Samsung has expanded its F-series portfolio by launching a new affordable Galaxy F06 5G smartphone. The entry-level smartphone comes as a successor to the Galaxy F05 (curr. at $119.50 on Amazon) that debuted last year in September. Samsung brings significant upgrades over the last generation model in terms of processor, display, and software support.

Speaking about the design, Samsung mildly refreshed the design of the Galaxy F06 5G smartphone. It comes with a 6.7-inch IPS LCD display that outputs at 1600 x 720 pixels with a peak brightness of 800 nits. Unfortunately, the device still comes with a standard 60 Hz refresh rate found on the predecessor.

Under the hood, the 5G-enabled smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor paired with up to 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, which can be expanded up to 1 TB via microSD card. It runs Android 14-based OneUI 6 out of the box, and the company promises four years of major OS updates (up to Android 18) and four years of security patches that will really put rivals to shame.

For optics, the Galaxy F06 5G device retains the same camera setup as the predecessor. It has a 50 MP primary camera, which is complemented by a 2 MP depth sensor. It has an 8 MP shooter on the front for capturing selfies and video chats. Furthermore, the device houses a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 25 W fast charging.

The Samsung Galaxy F06 5G starts at INR 9,999 (~$115) and comes in Bahama Blue and Lit Violet colorways. It is now available via Flipkart and Samsung’s official website.
