The Samsung Galaxy A06 4G was announced last August, and the launch of the 5G variant is now on the horizon. Leaker @Sudhanshu1414 has discovered that the Galaxy A06 5G will be officially unveiled "soon" and that the model will largely offer the same features as its 4G predecessor, with one significant difference: the processor.
Samsung is supposedly replacing the MediaTek Helio G85 with a MediaTek Dimensity 6300. This offers two more modern ARM Cortex-A76 performance cores that deliver higher boost clock rates of up to 2.4 GHz and are combined with six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. It is also manufactured with a structure width of 6 nm instead of 12 nm. According to our benchmarks, the chip is an impressive 88.4% faster than the Helio G85 in single-core mode and 47.5% faster in the multi-core benchmark. But the rest of the other features, according to @Sudhanshu1414, have barely been touched.
The Galaxy A06 5G is said to have a 6.7-inch LCD with a frame rate of 90 Hz, but only 720p+ resolution. An 8 MP selfie camera is installed in addition to a 50 MP main camera and a barely useful 2 MP sensor. The battery is said to have a capacity of 5,000 mAh, which can be charged via USB-C with up to 25 watts; wireless charging is not possible. The smartphone is also said to have a fingerprint sensor in the lock button, IP54-certified housing, 4 GB to 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB to 128 GB of storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card. Lastly, a special feature in this price range is that the Galaxy A06 5G will receive four major Android updates and four years of security patches.
