Vivo is now believed to have a successor to the 6,000mAh battery Y38 5G in the works - even if it will go by a somewhat different name on its launch.
The OEM reportedly intends to convert the "Y39" into the first handset sold under a new brand called Jovi - a slightly confusing prediction, as that name is also used for Vivo's on-device AI assistant in some regions.
Nevertheless, it is reportedly intended to denote a source of reasonably-priced mobile devices that might have the strongest selling points of the Y38 (which currently retails for ~$257 in markets such as Hong Kong) in the near future.
By contrast, Vivo's current best-known subsidiary iQoo focuses on value for money balanced by performance instead.
Accordingly, the Jovi range might also deviate from devices such as the more advanced Y300 sold on Amazon in India.
In the meantime, the "Jovi Y39 5G" has reportedly been spotted on Geekbench as the vivo V2444A with the same Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 platform as the Y38, although it might ship with Android 15 out of the box.
