Owing to extensive leaks in recent weeks, almost all information about the Google Pixel 9a is already known, ranging from the specs, the March 19 launch date to the euro prices. However, while rumors have so far indicated that the Pixel 9a with 128 GB of storage will launch for €549 and the version with 256 GB of storage for €649, Roland Quandt from Winfuture has just supposedly discovered that the mid-range smartphone will be a little cheaper after all.
Accordingly, the base model will have a €499 price tag, while the 256 GB top model will cost €599. The discrepancy of €50 may be due to different prices in different EU countries, as the previous leak explicitly referred to France. It remains unclear whether further launch bonuses are planned apart from possible trial subscriptions for Google services and cloud storage.
Pixel 9a to get seven years of updates and mid-range features
Color options for the Pixel 9a include Obsidian (black), Porcelain (white), Peony (pink) and Iris (purple). The smartphone will reportedly come with Android 15 and, just like the more expensive Pixel 9, will be supplied with operating system updates for seven years. Otherwise, Winfuture's report primarily confirms earlier leaks about the Pixel 9a's features.
To recap, the Pixel 9a is expected to sport the Google Tensor G4 ARM chip and a 6.3-inch OLED display with 1,080p+ resolution, a frame rate of 120 Hz, and a peak HDR brightness of 2,700 nits. Other expected features include a water-resistant casing, 8 GB of RAM, a fingerprint sensor integrated into the display, and a 5,100 mAh battery with support for wireless charging. In terms of cameras, the mid-range smartphone is said to have a 13 MP selfie camera, a 48 MP main camera with a 1/2 inch sensor, and a 13 MP ultra-wide-angle camera.
