Reviews for the Google Pixel 9a

81% Great battery life and a handy size - Google Pixel 9a review | Notebookcheck
The Google Pixel 9a is flatter, while boasting a bigger battery and display. The latter is even said to get brighter once more. Plus, more AI features have found their way onto the smartphone. Is this enough to be the leader of the mid-range?

Google unveils its Pixel 9a as budget phone wars heat up
Source: Sydney Morning Herald English
The iPhone 16e is the least expensive new Apple phone you can get, and if that’s what you’re after there’s no way an Android will be able to tempt you. But if you’re brand agnostic and looking for the best smartphone experience under $1000, it’s currently a very tight race.

Google Pixel 9a preview: the best candidate for your $500?
Source: Phone Arena English
By all means, the Pixel 9a seems like it will be another no-frills, core experience phone at a very reasonable price. The only thing that would keep me from recommending it hands-down is the fact that mainline Pixel 9 phones often drop in price by $200, bringing it down to a 9a price tag, but giving you just a little bit extra. Of course, we reserve final judgement until all our tests are done. The camera performance needs to be examined and compared to the Pixel 9 series and other contemporary competitors. We'll see how it goes after that, but for now — the Pixel 9a looks like a solid pick for your $500.

Pixel 9a hands-on: The new midrange smartphone king?
Source: Engadget English
For $499, the Pixel 9a will give you dual cameras, Tensor G4 power and access to basically all of Google's consumer Gemini AI features. Its screen even refreshes at 120Hz. You'll have a hard time finding a better deal — and the iPhone 16e pales in comparison.

Pixel 9a hands-on: Google's $499 is direct shot at the high iPhone 16e price
Source: The Shortcut English
The Pixel 9a has some trickle-down benefits from the pricier Pixel 9 series, making it an easy recommendation over last year’s Pixel 8a. Namely, you’re getting Add Me, a favorite feature that combines AI and the camera to make composite group photos.

Google Pixel 9a vs Pixel 9 preview: Why would you go with the flagship anyway?
Source: Phone Arena English
Wow, what a great value the Pixel 9a is! At $499, it might very well be the smash-hit success story on the affordable phone market this year. While the Pixel 9 costs $799, you don't get much extra in comparison with the affordable phone: a more premium design language and better camera image quality are the two major differentiating factors here. That's great value, and the Pixel 9a nails all the essential pillars of a great smartphone. Yes, it's formulaic and a little bit boring, but it offers the best bang of the buck right now.

Google Pixel 9a preview: Raising (and removing) the bar
Source: Expert Reviews English
The Google Pixel 8a has been my favourite mid-range phone since it was released and based on this first look, the Pixel 9a could well step neatly in to claim that crown. I miss the camera bar already, but that feels like a small issue when compared with how much potential the Pixel 9a has elsewhere. I’m particularly interested to see if that much larger battery can deliver an equally substantial jump in battery life. All will become clear when I get my hands on a Pixel 9a in the near future, so be sure to check back in soon for my full review, to see if Google has produced another fantastic mid-range phone.

Google Pixel 9A Has a New Design and Big Battery
Source: CNet English
The $499 Pixel 9A is a follow-up to one of our favorite phones from 2024, the Pixel 8A. Google not only kept the price under $500 but also gave the phone a big 5,100 mAh battery. The Pixel 9A has a new design, however, that might rub some people the wrong way.
