Google’s Pixel 9a already delivers flagship-level specs for a midrange price, and right now it's an even better value with Google slashing $100 off its regular price as part of its early holiday sale. For a limited time, you can grab the unlocked Pixel 9a for just $399 at Amazon, Best Buy, and the Google Store, down from its usual $499 sticker price.
This isn't the lowest price we've seen for the Pixel 9a; it hit a wild $349 during Prime Big Deals Day. However, it matches the best price we've seen since and handily beats the $485 sale price from last month. All four colors are discounted. If you want more storage, the 256GB model is also $100 off, bringing it down to $499. For most people, though, the 128GB base model is the one to get.
So, what does $399 get you? Pretty much everything you actually need. The Pixel 9a is powered by the same Tensor G4 chip as the flagship Pixel 9 and 9 Pro, and while it's not the fastest chip out there, it's quite reliable in day-to-day performance. It also features a beautiful 6.3-inch 120Hz OLED screen that gets impressively bright outdoors, as well as a massive 5,100mAh battery that easily lasts through a day (and then some). Perks like wireless charging and IP68 dust and water protection are just the cherry on top.
But the reason you buy a Pixel is for the "Pixel" experience. To that end, you get a clean, no-frills software experience with plenty of thoughtful AI features like deep integration with Gemini, Now Playing, and Call Screen, as well as smart camera tricks like Add Me, Reimagine, and Auto Frame.
The 48MP main camera is fantastic, delivering the kind of sharp, well-balanced photos you’d expect from a phone twice this price. The real showstopper is Google’s seven-year update promise, meaning this $399 mid-ranger is guaranteed to get new Android features and security updates until 2032, which is just unheard of in this price bracket.
