Google is expected to refresh the Pixel A series later this month with a successor to the Pixel 8a (curr. $399 on Amazon), less than a year after its release. Based on recent leaks, the Pixel 9a will officially arrive on March 19, or about five months before the Pixel 10 series receives an official release.
In the meantime, leaker Arsène Lupin has provided a look at promotional images from multiple angles. As a result, Lupin has confirmed that at least three launch colours are on the way, including a new purple finish. The same images also highlight that the three variants will feature matte back panels complemented by satin side rails, much like existing Pixel 9 flagships.
Additionally, Lupin has published photos of official cases, which appear to add little bulk to the Pixel 9a. Still, Google's cases should also protect the device's camera housing to a degree, which protrudes marginally from its rear panel in contrast to recent Pixel A series smartphones. As it stands, the Pixel 9a is expected to launch for $499 with 128 GB of storage. A 256 GB variant should be available too, albeit for $100 more than its 128 GB counterpart.
