Pixel 9a: New leak reveals Google's plans for Pixel 8a successor across Europe and the UK

Google is preparing to launch the Pixel 9a, which should line up as its first smartphone release of 2025 and the final part in its Pixel 9 series after unveiling the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold (curr. $1,779 on Amazon) in August. Recent leaks have suggested that the Pixel 8a successor could be with us in roughly six weeks time in a departure from previous announcements linked to Google's annual I/O conference.

According to @billbil_kun, Google will be opening pre-orders on March 19 before shipping begins on March 26. Launch pricing across Europe and the UK is said to mirror that expected for Canada and the US, which will be as follows across the Pixel 9a's two memory configurations:

• 8 GB RAM/128 GB storage: $499/£499/€549/CA$679
• 8 GB RAM/256 GB storage: $599/£599/€649/CA$809

The same source adds that both memory options will be available in Obsidian and Iris finishes. Although the latter has not been pictured yet, it is expected to have a light blue hue with a purple tint. @billbil_kun also reports that Porcelain and Peony finishes will be returning, but only for the Pixel 9a's entry-level 128 GB option. All variants will be bundled with three months of Google One (100 GB) and YouTube Premium, plus six months of Fitbit Premium. It remains to be seen whether Google has any hardware pre-order deals planned, though.
