Google Pixel 9a: Full specifications and unchanged pricing revealed ahead of schedule
Google's next mid-range smartphone has been the subject of various leaks in recent months. In fact, the first sighting of the Pixel 9a popped up less than two weeks after Google presented the Pixel 9 (curr. $622 on Amazon) and its other flagship smartphones. Since then, the Pixel 9a has popped up numerous times, most recently earlier this month.
Now, Android Headlines has shared images of what it claims is the device's 'complete technical specifications'. On the basis of the information contained below, the Pixel 9a will contain various changes from this year's Pixel 8a, including a larger housing and a 13.5% larger battery. Moreover, a 6.28-inch display would be 0.18 inches wider diagonally than the one found on this year's mid-range Pixel.
Furthermore, HDR peak brightness has increased from 2,000 nits to 2,700 nits, although full panel brightness tops out at 1,800 nits. Meanwhile, Google is said to be swapping out the main camera for a Samsung ISOCELL GN8, which outputs at 48 MP with a 1/1.95-inch optical format. In other words, the Pixel 9a will have a smaller main camera than its predecessor. Conversely, the 13 MP front-facing and ultra-wide-angle cameras will be brought across from the Pixel 8a.
As expected, the next Pixel A series smartphone will arrive with a Tensor G4 chipset and 8 GB of RAM. Likewise, the device should be available with 128 GB and 256 GB of storage options at unchanged prices, at least in the US. Incidentally, the Pixel 9a may be the only smartphone that Google releases running Android 15. Please see the image below for more technical details.
