MediaTek's latest Dimensity 8400 silicon for mid-range smartphones is currently exclusive to the Redmi Turbo 4 (also available on Amazon as the Poco X7 Pro for $350 right now) - although Realme is coming to knock it off that perch with the upcoming Neo 7 SE.
It has been confirmed to have an even cleaner look than its flagship Neo 7 counterpart, with an iPhone 16-esque camera hump on a plain "Mecha Design" background only augmented by a new, raised off-center motif (that looks most like a Nintendo DS lid) and a small, rivet-like corner badge.
Those details are only found in the 7 SE's blue and white colorways, while a third black option is devoid of ornamentation by comparison. All 3 SKUs have flat edges that look markedly slim despite their rumored battery capacity.
The 7 SE is tipped to launch with the same class-leading 7,000mAh spec as the higher-end 7, which can apparently be guaranteed for 4 years with the addition of an extra 1 yuan ($0.14) to its retail price.
Realme has yet to hint at how much the Neo 7 SE will cost on its debut - but has unexpectedly teased a second smartphone that is to launch on the same date.
The Neo 7x has yet to get its own design preview, but is hyped to go for just 999 yuan (~$137) or less from February 25, 2025.
