Vivo has just published an extensive teaser website for the V50. Although details about the price and launch date are still pending, the site reveals the most important details about the smartphone's features and design. Vivo has opted for a modern design with a display, a pill-shaped camera module and a back that is subtly rounded on all four sides.
Vivo has installed a 50 MP selfie camera with a wide-angle Zeiss lens, a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization and a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle camera that offers a field of view of 119 degrees and support for 4K videos. The camera app allows users to simulate several Zeiss lenses, including a 50 mm Zeiss Biotar, a 35 mm and a 23 mm Distagon. The ring-shaped LED flash, which Vivo calls "Aura Light 2.0", is designed to illuminate portraits more evenly than a conventional LED flash.
The Vivo V50 has a water-resistant, IP69-certified casing whose "Diamond Shield Glass" is said to be 50% more drop-resistant compared to the previous generation. Even though the device is relatively thin, Vivo has managed to install a particularly large 6,000 mAh battery that can be charged with up to 90 watts via USB-C. According to rumors, a 6.67-inch, 120 Hz AMOLED display is installed.
The device comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, which means that the mid-range smartphone should offer strong performance thanks to four ARM Cortex-A715 performance cores with boost clock frequencies of up to 2.63 GHz and four Cortex-A510 efficiency cores. However, whether the Vivo V50 will get a global launch remains unclear.
