Samsung has released the biggest update to date for the Home Up app. The app, which is distributed free of charge via the Galaxy Store, allows users to customize the system animations in a variety of ways, but the new options are currently only available for One UI 7, i.e., for the Galaxy S24, the Galaxy S25 and the respective Plus and Ultra models.
The app allows users to set, for example, how quickly app icons vibrate and how large they become when an app is moved on the home screen, how quickly an animated background image is played or how quickly certain transitions are carried out. While the Home Up app offers control over various aspects of many animations, the update also introduces a number of presets for users who don't want to deal with the fine-tuning of multiple parameters. The video embedded below from Android Authority shows how these presets affect the system animations.
As the video from Ice Universe shows after about 30 seconds, Home Up can also be used to make more radical adjustments to the behavior and speed of the animations. A comparison with ColorOS 15 shows how much smoother Samsung's animations look with a few adjustments. The new Home Up version also brings new options for customizing the Edge Panel and the home screen, so that stickers can be added to certain home screen pages, for example.
