A certification back in January already confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy A56 5G will get a new design, but now the very reliable leaker Evan Blass has reportedly unveiled official product images that show the upcoming mid-range smartphone in four different colors.
Aside from a new wallpaper, the design remains virtually unchanged from the front as Samsung continues to utilize a display with relatively narrow bezels, but a slightly wider chin at the bottom of the screen. The frame remains flat, the volume buttons and the power button sit in a frame that has slightly sharper edges than the Galaxy A55 5G, which arguably looks a bit more distinctive.
The by far the biggest difference is the camera module on the back of the phone. Instead of three individual lenses that stick out of the chassis, the triple-camera is now housed in a single pill-shaped module that looks similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. The Galaxy A56 5G will supposedly be offered in gray, pink, green, and black.
Apart from these design changes, only minor upgrades are rumored in terms of the remaining hardware. Specifically, the South Korean company is expected to replace the Exynos 1480 with the newer Exynos 1580, which offers up to a 37% more performance according to Samsung. However, the Galaxy A56 5G will probably feature exactly the same 120Hz AMOLED panel with 1080p+ resolution as well as a 5,000mAh battery, a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 5MP macro camera that are also found on the previous model.
The exact launch date or launch window of the new Samsung smartphone remains unknown at this point.
