The Poco M7 5G with the model number SM4450 has been listed on the Google Play Console, which is usually an obvious sign that the launch is only a few weeks away. The listing includes a picture of the front, which has significantly thinner bezels compared to the Poco M6. The frame is once again rounded, while the selfie camera is still housed in a punch-hole.
The technical specifications revealed by this leak further suppose that the Poco M7 5G will be a relatively affordable mid-range smartphone. The Poco M7 5G is apparently equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, which is a 4nm ARM chip from 2023 that pairs two Cortex-A78 performance cores with boost clock speeds up to 2.2GHz with six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores that run at 2.0GHz. Furthermore, there is at least one model variant with just 4GB of memory, although Xiaomi will likely offer the smartphone with more RAM at an according surcharge.
The display has a resolution of 1640 x 720 pixels, and the Poco M7 5G is expected to ship with Android 14, even though Android 15 has been available for about half a year. For a budget-friendly smartphone that probably won't get many major OS upgrades, this is quite unfortunate. For reference, the Poco M6 Pro 5G launched with Android 13 and is supposed to receive two major software updates to Android 15. That said, it’s unclear when exactly the new Xiaomi Poco M7 5G will hit the market.
