Samsung has released a new teaser video in order to promote new Galaxy A-series smartphones. Apparently, the video showcases current Galaxy A smartphones, since the Galaxy A26, Galaxy A36, and Galaxy A56 are expected to receive a new design with a pill-shaped camera bump on the back.
Either way, the teaser video does confirm at least one significant improvement. The new Galaxy A phones will receive six major operating system updates, while the Galaxy A35 and the Galaxy A55 5G were still limited to "just" four major Android updates and an additional year of security patches. This puts the mid-range smartphones only one major update behind flagships like the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Considering that the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 debuted last March, the launch of Samsung’s next generation mid-range smartphones should be imminent, although the company has not confirmed a specific release date thus far. In addition to a slightly revised design, users can also look forward to a performance boost.
According to earlier rumors, the Samsung Galaxy A56 5G will be powered by the new Exynos 1580, which is expected to offer both 37% more GPU performance and 37% better efficiency than the Exynos 1480 found in the Galaxy A55 5G. The previous model was already extremely robust thanks to Gorilla Glass Victus+ and a waterproof chassis. It’s not yet known which changes and upgrades the Galaxy A56 5G will receive apart from the processor. On the other hand, the Galaxy A36 5G might be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3.
