Xiaomi has started teasing a new mid-range Poco smartphone shortly before the device's full release. Likely arriving as a cheaper alternative to the Poco M7 Pro 5G, the new handset also appears to be a reworked Redmi 14R with a better primary camera.

A few weeks have passed since the Poco M7 5G surfaced on the Google Play Console. Now, Xiaomi has confirmed the device's existence on social media. As usual, the company has posted a few teasers online before the device's official launch, many of which we have embedded below.

From these, it is evident that the Poco M7 5G will arrive with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, which underpins many recent mid-range Xiaomi smartphones like the Redmi 12 5G (curr. $144.99 on Amazon). The device is also set to launch with at least 6 GB of RAM and a 120 Hz display that measures 6.88-inches across. Xiaomi adds that this panel peaks at 600 nits (HBM), although its native resolution may only be a mere 1,640 x 720 pixels.

Based on the specifications and images revealed so far, it seems that the Poco M7 5G is a re-branded Redmi 14R. However, Xiaomi has switched out the latter's 13 MP primary camera for a 50 MP sensor. Xiaomi will release the Poco M7 5G on March 3 in India; there is no word yet on international availability, though.
