The most unusual iPhone lineup in recent memory will likely arrive later this year, at least according to according leaks that have appeared over the last couple of weeks. After a well-known leaker recently reiterated the redesign of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Air, another set of leaked render images have shown us how a protective case for the iPhone 17 Pro Max will apparently look like.
At the moment, it seems like at least three of the four new iPhones that will launch in September 2025 are going to receive redesigns. But what about the regular iPhone 17? According to earlier rumors, the base model will miss out on the complete overhaul that the more expensive models are getting. This has now been confirmed by a brand-new leak. According to a picture shared by Majin Bu on X, the iPhone 17 is going to look pretty similar to the well-known iPhone 16.
iPhone 17 might be the odd one out
The leaker has often provided accurate information in the past but has also been wrong from time to time. It is difficult to verify the source of these new CAD renderings, which might or might not show the final design of the iPhone 17 series. That being said, the size of the devices seen here correspond to earlier rumors, which asserted that the iPhone 17 Pro would become more compact. This is a rather unexpected change, especially since the iPhone 16 Pro was equipped with a slightly larger display than its predecessor.
It would also be unusual for Apple to apply the new iPhone 17 camera design to just three of the four new smartphones. We also don’t know what the red markings on the two Pro versions are supposed to mean, but it could possibly indicate a two-tone color scheme. The reactions to this post on X are mostly negative, as many users don't seem to enjoy the purported designs.
