Apple iPhone 17 (Pro) said to become more expensive on Monday

The Apple iPhone 17 ($725 on Amazon), the iPhone Air, and the iPhone 17 Pro (Max) still cost the same in the Apple Store today as they did at their launch in September 2025. And this is despite the fact that Apple raised prices for most of its products in June, from the MacBook Neo to the iPad Pro to the Apple TV 4K. Apple’s top-selling product, the iPhone, was not affected by these price increases.

However, Apple may not wait until the launch of the iPhone 18 series to raise the list prices of its smartphones. According to the latest information from leaker Fixed Focus Digital, Apple is set to cut production of the iPhone 17 series by 15 to 30 percent and could announce a price increase as early as Monday, August 10. As usual, such rumors should be taken with a grain of salt. However, given that Apple is reportedly currently having difficulty securing sufficient RAM for the production of the iPhone 18 Pro (Max) and the iPhone Ultra, it would not be surprising if Apple cut production of the iPhone 17 series to allocate available resources to the next-generation flagship.

A price increase could also help offset the price hike for the iPhone 18 Pro, as according to one analyst’s estimates, even the most affordable iPhone 18 Pro could cost $1,399, up from the iPhone 17 Pro’s $1,099. Since Apple is expected to launch only the more expensive iPhone 18 Pro in September, with the more affordable iPhone 18 not coming out until spring 2027, a price increase might be inevitable, at least for the base model.
