Apple iPhone 18 Pro starting at $1,399: Rumors suggest prices may be even higher than expected

Apple raised the prices of Macs, iPads, Apple TVs, and other products just a few weeks ago, but the iPhone 17 Pro ($1,048 on Amazon) is still being sold at the original list price. In contrast, the price increase for the iPhone 18 Pro (Max) is expected to be even more drastic. While analyst Jeff Pu had stated in February that at least the 256 GB base model would launch at the same price as the iPhone 17 Pro (Max), he now expects a higher price after all.

The analyst writes on X that rising costs for DRAM and NAND flash memory, as well as the higher price of the 2-nm Apple A20 Pro, could cause the price of the iPhone 18 Pro to rise by $250 to $300. This would mean the iPhone 18 Pro with 256 GB of storage would cost between $1,349 and $1,399 in the U.S. If Apple converts these prices at the same exchange rate as it did for the iPhone 17 Pro, this would correspond to a list price in Europe of between €1,599 and €1,649.

A new report from Bloomberg corroborates Jeff Pu’s claims, as Bloomberg editor Mark Gurman also anticipates a price increase. However, the journalist expects the price increase for the base model to be more in line with the price hikes seen on many Mac and iPad models, meaning the iPhone 18 Pro would cost $100 to $200 more. Models with more storage are likely to be even more severely affected by the DRAM crisis. In any case, customers planning to purchase the next-generation flagship iPhone should brace themselves for significantly higher prices than they’ve been used to.
