PandaFlashPro has shared new expectations for Samsung's first tri-fold smartphone, having discussed availability of the device last week along with Ross Young. This time, PandaFlashPro has touched on the device's camera hardware, which should differ from the Galaxy Z Fold6 in various areas.
For example, PandaFlashPro reports that Samsung is prototyping the so-called 'Galaxy G Fold' with a 200 MP sensor as its primary camera. Although PandaFlashPro does not acknowledge as much, it would seem likely that this sensor is the ISOCELL HP2 found in the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition and Galaxy S25 Ultra.
The source also mentions 12 MP ultra-wide-angle and 10 MP telephoto cameras, as well as a 10 MP primary front-facing camera. Incidentally, these would match the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, which share ISOCELL 3LU and ISOCELL 3K1 as their ultra-wide-angle and telephoto cameras, respectively.
It remains to be seen whether Samsung will return to the front-facing cameras used in the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition or those found in the Galaxy Z Fold6 (curr. $1,549 on Amazon). Either way, the G Fold is not expected to arrive until the autumn. For now, Samsung is believed to have scheduled display panel production for July or August, which is likely after its next Galaxy Unpacked event for the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7.
