At the beginning of the year, OnePlus announced the OnePlus 13 and a more affordable model, the OnePlus 13R. Both phones are successors to the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R respectively, which are still available for purchase alongside the new models. OnePlus has now announced a permanent price cut for the OnePlus 12R.
The OnePlus 12R will now start at $399 which nets you the base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage according to an email reports 9to5Google. The 16GB RAM version with 256GB of storage which was originally sold for $599 will now retail for $499.
According to the source, the price cut seems to be exclusive to Best Buy. However, when we checked Best Buy, we found out that the store has knocked $100 off the Cool Blue colorway of the 16GB + 256GB version, bringing it down to $399.99 while the Iron Gray variant sells for $499.99.
The OnePlus 12R has a 6.78'' FHD+ LTPO4 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the phone has a 16MP front-facing camera, and 50MP + 8MP + 2MP triple rear cameras.
There is a fingerprint scanner under the display, dual SIM support, stereo speakers, and a 5,500mAh battery that charges at 80W (charger included in the box). It also has Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and an IR blaster.
The OnePlus 12R launched with OxygenOS 14 based on Android 14 and has already been updated to OxygenOS 15 based on Android 15. It will receive three OS upgrades and four years of security updates which means it still has two more OS upgrades while software support will arrive until early 2029.
