In recent weeks, it seemed that Samsung may be shaking up the Galaxy Z Flip for its eventh generation release. Until now, the company has offered its clamshell foldables with Qualcomm chipsets, like the Galaxy Z Flip6 (curr. $629.99 - renewed on Amazon) and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy.
There have been suggestions that its successor could adopt the Exynos 2500. This was also the case for the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25 Plus, which Samsung has since released exclusively with the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy instead. However, Samsung has not announced the Exynos 2500 in any capacity yet.
Now, there are reports that the Exynos 2500 may not underpin the Galaxy Z Flip7, either. Allegedly, Samsung has stopped testing its next-generation clamshell with its latest Exynos chipset, which is believed to leverage Cortex-A520, Cortex-A725 and Cortex-X925 CPU cores with an Xclipse 950 GPU.
PandaFlashPro has not offered any evidence to suggest what the Exynos 2500 has been replaced by. The leaker indicates that the Snapdragon 8 Elite will be making a return though, which would be an obvious alternative given the Galaxy Z Flip's past releases. It remains to be seen whether this will be the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy or its slower 7-core counterpart, which is now available inside the Oppo Find N5.
