With the Galaxy Z Flip 7 (and potentially the Galaxy Z Flip FE) slated to arrive in a couple of weeks, there has been some discourse about it online. Unfortunately, a lot of it has been conflicting, especially when it comes to the SoC. A new report from a South Korean media outlet further muddies the waters.
Apparently, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will now launch with an Exynos 2500e. It is essentially an underclocked Exynos 2500 variant that prioritizes stability and thermals over raw performance. While Samsung is no stranger to e-branded chips, having used the Exynos 2400e on the Galaxy S24 FE, they usually debut after their non-e variants have been out and about.
Essentially, there might not be an Exynos 2500 this time around. Or the Exynos 2500e might launch as the regular Exynos 2500. To make matters worse, the seemingly non-nerfed Exynos 2500 struggled to keep up with behemoths like the Snapdragon 8 Elite and Dimensity 9400. Hence, its downgraded version becomes even more non-competitive.
This adds a new twist to the Galaxy Z Flip 7 story. Initially, it was assumed to launch with an Exynos 2500. Subsequently, another report stated Samsung could substitute it with a Snapdragon 8 Elite. If that wasn't enough, another report opines it will be the Galaxy Z Flip FE that will launch with an Exynos 2500, and not the regular Galaxy Z Flip 7.
