Vivo Y28 4G enters the mid-range with 6,000 mAh battery, 1,000 nits display and 50 MP camera
The brand new Vivo Y28 4G has a modern design in the style of the Apple iPhone 15 (approx. 800 euros on Amazon), as Vivo also relies on a flat frame and a square camera module, although the display on the Y28 4G has slightly wider screen edges. Although the 6.68-inch LCD only achieves a resolution of 1608 x 720 pixels, it still has a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a brightness of 1,000 nits.
The 8-megapixel selfie camera sits in a central punch-hole, while a 50 MP f/1.8 wide-angle camera, a 2 MP depth sensor, an LED flash, as well as so-called "Dynamic Light", can be seen on the back. This is an LED ring that can be synchronized with the rhythm of the music being played and can indicate incoming notifications and calls. A highlight of the equipment is the battery, which is comparatively large with a capacity of 6,000 mAh and can be charged via USB-C with up to 44 watts.
The 8.1-millimeter thin, 199-gram light smartphone is IP64 certified and, therefore, protected against dust and rain. The Vivo Y28 4G relies on the MediaTek Helio G85 which has two ARM Cortex-A75 performance cores with clock frequencies of up to 2.0 GHz and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores at 1.8 GHz. A side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a dual SIM slot and a microSD card reader round off the features.
Prices and availability
The Vivo Y28 4G will be available in Singapore exclusively with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB flash memory for SGD 269 (approx. EUR 186). Vivo has not yet confirmed any details about the international launch.
