Honor announces new mid-range smartphone with Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset
Honor has unveiled a new smartphone in its X-series, the Honor X9c 5G. The company’s new mid-range smartphone is now available in Malaysia for RM 1,499 (roughly $340 / Rs 28,770). The X9c is a rebranded version of the Honor X60 Pro which was introduced in China last month.
The handset is equipped with the 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor paired with 12GB of RAM and Adreno 710 GPU. It runs MagicOS 8.0 based on Android 14 out of the box. Speaking about the design, the Honor X9c comes with a curved display design. Compared to last year’s Honor X9b model, there are no major improvements here. You get the same processor, the same display, and a nearly identical design.
The phone has a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with 2700 x 1224 px resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Moreover, the X9c should reach 4,000 nits across 27% of its display, which is up from 1,200 nits on the X9b. At 189 grams, this year’s model weighs 4 grams more than its predecessor.
Furthermore, Honor’s new mid-range device utilizes a large 6,600mAh battery, which is up from 5,800mAh on the X9b. It supports 66w fast wired charging. Unfortunately, there’s no wireless charging support here.
The Honor X9c has a dual rear camera setup with support for 4k/30fps videos. The main 108MP camera with OIS support is complemented by a 5MP wide camera. There’s a 16MP shooter on the front for selfies and videos. This time around, Honor has added an IP65M rating for dust and water resistance.
Coming to the pricing and availability, the base 12GB + 256GB model starts at RM 1,499 (roughly $340 / Rs 28,770), and the high-end 12GB + 512GB model is priced at RM 1,699 ( roughly $385 / Rs 32,610). The smartphone comes in titanium purple, jade cyan, and titanium black color options. Head over to the official product page of the X9c smartphone for more information.
