Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered Honor Magic 7 series to bring Autopilot AI
The Snapdragon 8 Elite is now official, and the smartphones in the Honor Magic 7 series will be among the first to feature it. Honor has also confirmed that its new flagship phones will bring new AI features, including the "industry's first" on-device agent called Autopilot AI for mobile.
This new Autopilot AI for mobile will introduce an open ecosystem and new features that will enhance the smartphone experience. As Honor describes, it will learn from the users' habits and make intelligent decisions. For instance, if the user asks it to order coffee, it will consider past orders and make a decision that's more likely to match the user's preference.
Honor emphasizes that Autopilot AI on the Magic 7 series will prioritize privacy. Moreover, as it will do on-device processing, users won't need to worry about their data being accessed by a third party. The new AI-powered agent can also assist in other factors, such as canceling unwanted subscriptions across different apps.
In addition, Honor says that the phones in the Magic 7 series will feature AI-empowered hardware. They will come with an NPU, which aims to enhance the gaming experience with on-device generative AI. Honor says that it will offer real-time AI rendering. This will reduce the GPU load, improve the image quality, and lower the device temperatures during gaming.
Other than that, the company has highlighted how its MagicRing can make the multi-device AI experience seamless. Honor is working with Qualcomm for MagicRing, and it aims to smoothen the flow of information across the devices. All these features and more will be available on the Magic 7 series running MagicOS 9.0.
