Asus ROG Phone 9 unboxing footage leaks after release date reveal

Asus has now revealed the launch date for the ROG Phone 9 series, full details of which we have covered separately. While the company plans to wait roughly a month before fully introducing its next gaming smartphones, it has already showcased what some elements of what at least one model looks like.

Moreover, a few sources have shared hands-on footage of the ROG Phone 9, which we have embedded below. Seemingly, K-Tai Watch Impress Japan snapped the device at Qualcomm's Snapdragon Summit. Incidentally, the chipset manufacturer revealed the Snapdragon 8 Elite during the same event yesterday, which will power ASUS' ROG Phone 8 (curr. $1,099.99 on Amazon) successor.

By contrast, YouTuber GadgetsBoy has managed to get their hands on what appears to be a retail ROG Phone 9 unit. Although they did not acknowledge as much in their short video, retail packaging can be seen throughout. Ultimately, the ROG Phone 9 appears to have a more premium build than its predecessor. However, it remains to be seen what other practical changes Asus has made between generations, other than swapping the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for a Snapdragon 8 Elite.
