Xiaomi 15 series goes up for pre-order without an official launch date
Right after the Snapdragon 8 Elite launch, Chinese companies have started to announce their new flagship phones that will feature the new 3 nm SoC. A couple of these phones already have an official launch date, but Xiaomi has been relatively quiet. While it didn't share concrete details on when the Xiaomi 15 series will debut, it has started taking pre-orders for the new lineup in China.
The pre-order page doesn't reveal anything about the upcoming phones. It doesn't even show the design of the smartphones that will be in the Xiaomi 15 series. However, it does detail the pre-order bonuses.
On the note of the design, a previous leak suggested that the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro will look very similar to their predecessors. Of course, it did hint that there would be some notable changes. For example, the camera island on the back is expected to have a ceramic deco with the flash module placed outside of the island.
A few days ago, the Xiaomi 15 Pro was allegedly spotted in the hands of the company's vice president, Wang Xiaoyan. The phone that got spotted had a similar design to the leaked renders. An earlier leak hinted that the non-Pro model will remain as compact as its predecessor, coming with a 6.36-inch display. The Pro variant, on the other hand, is expected to feature a 6.73-inch screen.
Besides these, the Xiaomi 15 series is expected to see a price hike. The standard model will reportedly start at CNY 4,599 (about $646), while the Pro at CNY 5,299 (around $744). To compare, the standard model in the Xiaomi 14 series launched at a starting price of CNY 3,999 (about $561), and the Pro at CNY 4,999 (around $702).
