HMD Fusion: Venom-themed Smart Outfit unveiled

Recently, HMD announced its collaboration with Marvel's Venom: The Last Dance movie and teased an "ultimate symbiotic phone." However, little else was revealed. Now, we have a closer look at what HMD has been developing. As part of this collaboration, HMD has developed a limited number of Venom-themed Smart Outfits. 

The HMD Fusion, unveiled last month, features a unique element called "Smart Outfits."  This allows users to attach different kinds of outfits to the back of their phones giving them a distinctive look.  The outfits basically serves as a smartphone case. These cases can be attached to the phone with six smart pins.

The Venom-themed Smart Outfit features 160 electromagnetic arrays controlling a mesmerizing ferrofluid that moves in a glass chamber, creating a Venom-like effect. Apart from that, it also brings software-based enhancements like icons, wallpapers and famous lines from the Venom franchise. For example, there is a welcome sound "We are Venom," a “We are screwed” ringtone, and a voicemail message that echoes Venom’s bond with Eddie, saying, “I’m with you till the end.”

This will definitely intrigue Venom fans, but the unfortunate news is that the company has made only three of these conceptual Smart Outfits to showcase its unique concept. That said, HMD allows users to create their own Smart Outfits thanks to the HMD Fusion Development Toolkit. After the launch in Europe last month, the HMD Fusion is now available for pre-order in the U.S.
