Samsung Galaxy F05 now official as new 50 MP smartphone with 'stylish' leather design
Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy F05 in India, where the Galaxy F remains exclusive. While the company and Flipkart are marketing the Galaxy F05 as a new device, that is not necessarily the case. Instead, the uniqueness of the Galaxy F05 only runs skin deep.
Although neither Samsung nor Flipkart acknowledges as much in their initial announcements, the Galaxy F05 shares almost all its hardware with the Galaxy A05 (curr. $111 on Amazon). By extension, that also makes the Galaxy F05 a sibling of the Galaxy M05 that debuted earlier this month. Specifically, the Galaxy F05 features the following hardware:
- MediaTek Helio G85 chipset
- 5,000 mAh battery (25 W wired charging)
- 4 GB RAM/64 GB expandable storage
- 6.7-inch IPS display, 720p resolution, 60 Hz refresh rate
Additionally, Samsung has installed a 3.5 mm jack for analogue audio, a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer, and an FM radio. Moreover, the Galaxy F05 finds itself with a 50 MP primary camera, plus 8 MP front-facing and 2 MP depth cameras. Unsurprisingly, Samsung will ship the Galaxy F05 with Android 14, albeit only with the promise of two major OS updates. The Galaxy F05 will go on sale in India from September 20 for INR 7,999 (~$95).
