New Montech Heritage PC cases have leather accents and a carrying handle
PC case manufacturers are making some unusual design choices to gain attention. Wood cases have gained popularity recently, giving setups a more sophisticated look. Now, with the Heritage micro ATX enclosures, Montech has added luxurious leather to a steel and glass construction. While not as compact as mini ITX alternatives, the Heritage and Heritage Pro cases also feature carrying straps. The cases are already for sale in black and white, with asking prices of $89.90 for the Heritage and $109.90 for the Heritage Pro.
The Montech Heritage PC cases accept micro ATX and mini ITX motherboards. Micro ATX parts provide top-end performance while preserving desk space. Gamers can add GPUs up to 400mm long in the Heritage chassis, sufficient for the Nvidia RTX 4090. The Heritage Pro ships with four 120mm fans, but buyers must supply cooling with the marginally cheaper Heritage. Both versions are generous with AIO liquid cooling support, allowing 360mm radiators below top panels.
The Montech Heritage addresses overheating concerns with large vents spread around the cases. The left panels have clear windows trimmed with triangular leather strips, providing a partial view of components. The Heritage PC cases work with recent back-connect motherboards for tidy cable management. However, even with easily removable panels, space behind the motherboard tray is limited.
Laptops are the obvious solution when PCs are regularly brought to work and school. Once the Heritage cases are filled with components, the leather straps may not be sufficient. Still, the Montech Heritage micro ATX cases are an option for more affordable custom builds. Since the Heritage Pro includes four fans and a headphone hanger, it's a more enticing purchase.
