iOS 18 was announced last year in June during the WWDC 2024 event. Therefore, iOS 19 is likely around six months away from its announcement. A new leak has surfaced online suggesting that iOS 19 may bring a redesigned Camera app.
A popular YouTuber, fpt., claims to have seen the redesigned Camera app. However, in order to protect the source, the YouTuber demonstrated the new design through a visual representation.
The redesigned Camera app features a cleaner interface with rounded elements. The new app allows for simplified navigation between front and rear cameras. It streamlines access to various features. For example, the resolution and frame rate can now be changed within the Camera app, rather than navigating to the settings menu.
The design language of the new Camera app seems to be inspired by VisionOS, Apple's operating system for its mixed-reality headset. From the showcased Camera app, it seems like the entire iOS 19 will get a major redesign. Hence, iOS 19 could include more rounded icons and a VisionOS-inspired home screen layout.
Though the YouTuber has a strong track record of accurate leaks, there is no official confirmation of a redesign from Apple itself. The last major redesign of iOS was done with iOS 7, making it quite possible that iOS 19 could bring significant changes after such a long gap.
