New iPhone SE-related leaks are coming thick and fast. This time, Evan Blass has shared a photo that throws previous assumptions about the iPhone SE 2022 (curr. $159.99 - renewed on Amazon) successor up in the air.
To recap, the next iPhone SE had been assumed for a while to be a reconstituted iPhone 14, which Apple continues to sell globally alongside the larger iPhone 14 Plus as cheaper options in its iPhone line-up. As such, Apple was expected to re-use the 6.1-inch and Super Retina XDR OLED panel from the iPhone 14 in the iPhone SE 4, which is also known as the iPhone 16e.
According to Blass, photos in iOS 18.3 beta code show the next iPhone SE sporting a Dynamic Island found in the iPhone 15 series onwards. Such images do not necessarily reflect what retail devices look like, though. Instead, they could serve as placeholders until an unreleased device becomes official.
As a result, there is no guarantee that the next iPhone SE will look like the image below. The similarities between the iPhone XR and iPhone XS series suggest that the iPhone 16e or iPhone SE 4 could look more like the iPhone 16 series than past rumours suggested, though.
