In a new X post, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced a February 19 event for a 'new member of the family'. If earlier reports are accurate, the device in question is very likely the iPhone SE 4.

Once again, Mark Gurman's predictions about Apple launches has come true. This time, Tim Cook confirmed his speculation via an X post titled, "Get ready to meet the newest member of the family." Obviously, it doesn't mention a product by name, but by all reasonable estimates, it is very likely the iPhone SE 4 (or iPhone 16E, depending on who you ask).

Tim's choice of words (newest member) implies there will be just one singular product (iPhone SE 4). So, those hoping for an M4 MacBook Air may have to wait a bit longer. Besides, Gurman says it isn't due until March. But, the iPhone SE 4 in itself is a radical new development because it overcomes the shortcomings of its predecessors.

Not only do you get an iPhone 15-like chassis (no Dynamic Island, unfortunately) with an Action Button, you also get a powerful Apple A18 chip with Apple Intelligence, which, in turn, implies it will launch with at least 8 GB of RAM. While its single rear camera might put many people off, its rumoured $500 price tag will effectively decimate the market for mid-range Android phones.
