Galaxy Z TriFold’s last hurrah: Restock incoming for US shoppers

After months of hype and anticipation, Samsung finally unveiled the Galaxy Z TriFold in December last year. However, the premium foldable was discontinued after three short months, both in the US and the company’s home country, South Korea. It was said that the next batch of Galaxy Z TriFold’s will be the last for the US and that batch is arriving soon.
Those who missed out on getting the Galaxy Z TriFold because of its limited inventory and exclusivity will get one last chance to own it. On April 10, Samsung will make the premium foldable available via the online store and the Samsung Experience stores in the US. The stocks are expected to be limited as usual and this will likely be the last time the phone goes on sale.
The Samsung website has a timer running, indicating availability for the Galaxy Z TriFold, ending at 9am ET on April 10. Interested shoppers will need to sign up before the timer runs out to get an opportunity to buy the phone. Available in a single configuration, the Galaxy Z TriFold is priced at $2,899.
While Samsung did not share the exact reason for discontinuation, it is said that the device was very expensive to produce and that it was never meant to be a mass manufactured product. That being said, the company is reportedly already working on a second generation, as well as a model that slides to reveal a larger display.
