Epic Games Store lines up two games with over 85% positive Steam ratings for mid-March 2026 giveaway

Epic Games Store has made two freebies available to claim, and with this refresh on the free game section, the storefront has also revealed what it has planned for mid-March 2026. As the latest reveal confirms, the current PC giveaway will be followed up with two well-rated games.

Among the two, one is Isonzo, which has won multiple game awards since its 2022 release. It's positioned as a realistic WW1 shooter that puts players in mountainous Italian battlefields. At first glance, it may seem similar to Tannenberg and Verdun, both of which became popular for their realistic WW1 gameplay mechanics, and they are even from the same developer, BlackMill Games. However, its overall setting is different.

To be specific, Isonzo brings vertical mountain maps, avalanches, and climbing that add an elevation-based strategy. Nonetheless, the game has support for 48-player matches, six classes, and loadout customizations with over 50 historical weapons. On Steam, it holds an 86% positive rating with over 7,600 reviews, and it retails for $29.99, but it will be available as a free game on Epic Games Store on March 12, 2026.

While all that sounds great, it's worth noting that this upcoming freebie doesn't have strong tutorials, so it's not newbie-friendly. Some matches can span over 30 minutes, which can be frustrating for those who prefer quick rounds.

Cozy Grove is the second upcoming PC free game on Epic Games Store

Epic Games Store is pairing the realistic WW1 shooter with a relaxing game, Cozy Grove. It puts players on a haunted island, tasked to help ghost bears with quests and restore color and life to the environment.

Released in 2021, a notable aspect of the game is the hand-drawn, dynamic landscapes. The environment evolves as players befriend spirits and progress in the 40+ hour campaign that's synced with the real-world time. It may seem similar to Animal Crossing, but there's a spooky element to the overall setting, and it has narrative-driven twists.

When not on sale, Cozy Grove retails for $14.99, and on Steam, it has a 90% positive rating with over 3,700 reviews. However, the fetch quests can feel repetitive at times, and the strict daily time-gating limits playtime, meaning this isn't something that's for longer daily sessions.
