Wave Gods: Ammo Night is a relatively newer title, having released only in Feb 2026, and now it's free on Epic Games.
Epic Games Store is giving away a survival shooter - Wave Gods: Ammo Night - for free through March 29. The game usually retails for $11.49 and features co-op gameplay for groups of up to six players in a zombie-themed world.

Epic Games has added Vault Games' newest title, Wave Gods: Ammo Night, to its free game rotation. Users can claim the action-adventure survival shooter at no cost until March 29, 2026. The game typically retails for $11.49 on the platform, and once claimed, it becomes a permanent part of the user's library. Please note that this isn't a part of Epic Games' standard freebie program, rather, a one-time deal.

The game itself is a wave-based zombie survival shooter built around ammo management. You can play solo or with up to six players in online co-op, which is higher than most games in this category. The gameplay is as straightforward as it gets: survive waves, conserve resources, and hold out as long as possible. It supports both single-player and multiplayer modes, along with controller support (check out the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C wireless controller on Amazon) and local play options. The setting gives you abandoned environments to play in, packed with dense zombie swarms - very similar to older Left 4 Dead-style setups but with limited ammo rather than constant shooting.

Wave Gods is not really a lightweight release. The recommended specs include an RTX 4060-class GPU and 32 GB RAM, so you'd need a more demanding build than typical indie shooters. Storage requirement sits at around 20 GB. There are also optional in-game purchases, including cosmetics and additional content like maps, which could affect long-term value depending on how content is gated in the future. Also, there aren't many reviews to go by since the game is extremely new - just something to keep in mind.

From a solely "deal" perspective, Wave Gods: Ammo Night is an easy pickup. A $12-13 game going free isn’t unusual on Epic, but these smaller promos aren't that common. Plus, the six-player co-op angle is the main hook here, even if the gameplay itself looks sort of recycled. Worst case, it sits in your library. Best case, it becomes a quick weekend game with your friends before the servers thin out.

You can claim Wave Gods: Ammo Night on Epic Games here.
