Epic Games Store locks in two well-rated PC free games to close February 2026

Epic Games Store is currently giving away the penultimate PC freebies of February 2026. For those who missed our coverage, the storefront is currently offering Stalcraft:X Starter Edition and Return to Ash. When these two expire, two more PC free games will replace them, and they have been revealed.
One of the upcoming Epic Games Store free games is My Night Job. This is a chaotic, arcade-style action game that's set in an abandoned mansion. It offers an explosive experience, with the primary goal being to rescue 100 survivors while defending rooms from 11 different monster types.
Floors collapse if there are too many monsters, which raises the stakes and makes the overall gameplay challenging. Combat is deliberately exaggerated, but the mechanics are playful. There's proper support for controllers as well (8BitDo Ultimate 2 curr. $59.99 on Amazon), and currently, it holds an 83% positive rating on Steam.
While this survival horror game is praised for its 2D horror aesthetic, the screen can get too cluttered with things. The overwhelming level of chaos is another thing that many didn't like. When not discounted, it costs $9.99, but it will be available as a free game from February 26 to March 05.
The second upcoming free game is Boxes: Lost Fragments. It's a 3D puzzle escape title that makes players fill the role of a master thief. The primary task is to snag a series of mysterious mechanical boxes while infiltrating a grand mansion.
There are a total of five chapters, and within them are 20 levels. These are all handcrafted levels, and they have box-themed puzzles that range from logic-based mechanisms to reflex-driven sequences. There are 2.5D platforming segments as well.
Released in 2024, it currently holds a 91% positive rating on Steam, but it's worth noting that some puzzles can feel repetitive. Boxes: Lost Fragments typically costs $14.99 when there's no sale in place. However, from February 26 to March 05, it will be available for $0 on the Epic Games Store.
