Epic Games announces new free game for mobile gamers

Epic Games gives away free games every week, allowing players to expand their libraries without spending a single dime. The giveaways usually focus on PC titles, but the company has also been offering free games for mobile users. And if you’re a mobile gamer, there’s currently a popular 2D side-scrolling game available for free.
Last week, Epic offered Little Nightmares for free on mobile devices. That giveaway has now ended, and it has been replaced with Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap. The game is available for both Android and iOS, and players can claim it through the Epic Games Store mobile app.
As for what it offers, Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap is a mix of action, exploration, and adventure gameplay. It is a modern remake of Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap, a classic game originally released on the Sega Master System in 1989. The remake keeps the core gameplay of the original but adds modern visuals and sound.
In the game, the main character is cursed after being defeated by the Meka-Dragon, turning them into a half-human, half-lizard creature. To return to human form, the player must find a magical item known as the Salamander Cross, which has the power to remove curses.
One of the main highlights of the remake is its hand-drawn graphics and re-orchestrated soundtrack. However, players can also switch to the original 8-bit graphics and audio at any time during gameplay for a more classic experience.
Overall, the game has over 1,900 reviews on Steam and holds a Very Positive rating. However, do keep in mind that the giveaway will be live until March 19, after which it will be replaced with another free title.
