Wolverine and Ghost of Yotei among PS5 exclusive games that PlayStation will not port to PC

Recently, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier hinted that PlayStation was changing its cross-platform approach. In a new article, he provides more details on what single-player PS5 exclusive games won’t see PC ports. Steam users should no longer expect anticipated titles, including Wolverine, Ghost of Yōtei, and Saros.
Schreier spoke to sources who warned that Sony’s plans are constantly evolving. Nevertheless, he offers several reasons as to why the company is less inclined to support PCs. One explanation could be softer-than-forecasted sales for several exclusives. While earning over $1.5 billion in gross revenue from Valve’s marketplace, most came from the live-service multiplayer game Helldivers 2.
In addition, desktop and laptop owners may have been frustrated by the long delays in release dates. The Bloomberg report also notes that these buyers resisted requirements to create PSN accounts.
How new consoles factor into Sony's decision
Schreier believes PlayStation is looking to the future as it reevaluates its strategy for PS5 exclusive games. Powered by Windows, the new Xbox console may support Steam and rival launchers. Likewise, the Valve Steam Machine lurks, hoping to bring its massive library into living rooms. With the PS6 in development, Sony wants to reserve first-party projects for its own hardware.
The cancellation of a Ghost of Yōtei port will disappoint fans, as many assumed it would launch on Steam. Its predecessor, Ghost of Tsushima, arrived on the marketplace in May 2024. Marvel’s Wolverine was another title generating hype ahead of its September 2026 release date. Finally, the third-person shooter Saros will remain locked to the PS5, after its April 30th debut.
The good news for PC gamers is that Sony hasn’t entirely abandoned them. Because Hideo Kojima’s independent studio produced Death Stranding 2, a version catering to this audience should still surface. Likewise, Schreier expects Ember Lab’s Kena: Scars of Kosmora to ship on PCs in 2026. Most multiplayer projects are also safe, since cross-platform games can attract larger player bases immediately.
