Death Stranding 2 PC system requirements revealed, with a dedicated preset for handhelds

Death Stranding 2’s PC port was officially announced during this month’s State of Play event, with the release set for March 19. And now, the full system requirements have been revealed, giving PC gamers a clear idea of what kind of hardware they’ll need to run the game smoothly.

To run the game at 1080p with 30 FPS, players will need at least an Nvidia GTX 1660 or a Radeon RX 5500 XT. On the processor side, an Intel Core i3-10100 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100 will be enough for entry-level performance. If you want a smoother 60 FPS experience at 1080p with medium settings, the GPU requirement jumps to an RTX 3060 12GB or Radeon RX 6600, paired with an Intel Core i5-11400 or AMD Ryzen 5 5600. 

For those targeting 1440p at 60 FPS, Nixxes Software recommends stepping up to an RTX 3070 or Radeon RX 6800, along with an Intel Core i7-11700 or Ryzen 7 5700X. At the very top end, running the Very High preset at 4K with 60 FPS will require an RTX 4080 or Radeon RX 9070 XT, while the CPU can remain similar to the 1440p recommendation. Across all presets, 16GB of RAM is mandatory, and the game will require 150GB of SSD storage.

What’s interesting is the addition of a dedicated Portable preset. This mode is designed specifically for gaming handhelds like the Steam Deck, ROG Xbox Ally, and Lenovo Legion Go, optimizing visuals and performance for lower-power hardware. 

On top of that, ultrawide monitors are fully supported, including 21:9 for cutscenes and up to 32:9 during gameplay. Even players using standard high-resolution 16:9 monitors can enable a wider field of view in the display settings. The game will also support Nvidia DLSS 4, AMD FSR 4, and Intel XeSS 2.
