AYN Thor: Manufacturer announces another price increase is on the horizon

Fresh from returning from the Chinese New Year holidays, AYN has arrived with some bad news with respect to its dual-screen handheld, the Thor. Announced in August 2025, the Android gaming device began shipping the first batch of orders to buyers in October of the same year.
However, when AYN announced it would soon start accepting a new batch of orders in January 2026, it revealed that the Thor would cost more due to the surge in memory prices that has plagued the tech industry. Now, AYN says a second price increase is on the horizon.
According to a Discord post, AYN disclosed that information received from its DRAM and storage supplier revealed that memory prices are still on the rise, no thanks to the high demand placed by AI companies. Due to this, the cost of the component supplied for the AYN Thor will also increase.
Unfortunately, this increase in component cost will be transferred to consumers, hence, an increase in the retail price of the Thor.
AYN has revealed that the upward price adjustment is expected to happen in April, but didn't mention a specific date. It also didn't say by how much the price will increase, although it mentioned that it will be determined by how much the component cost rises.
As a refresher, the AYN Thor is available in four variants — Lite, Base, Pro, and Max. The Thor Lite, which costs $249, didn't get a price increase in January, but the Thor Base increased from $299 to $309, while the price of the Thor Pro increased from $349 to $369. The Thor Max jumped from $430 to $450.
AYN didn't mention a price increase for the Odin 3, which didn't receive a price review in January, too.
