As a well-deserved Game of the Year candidate, Death Stranding 2 is undoubtedly one of the best games to launch this year. Unfortunately, it is exclusive to the PlayStation 5. While its predecessor, Death Stranding, eventually did make it to PC, there's no word about when Death Stranding 2 will follow suit. A new ESRB rating suggests it might be sooner than initially anticipated.
Death Stranding 2 has been certified as M (Mature) due to the use of curse words in its dialogue. Besides, Sam Porter Bridges even has an option to relieve himself in certain areas (thankfully not in front of people or in settlements). Then there's the occasional graphic cutscene here and there to top it all off.
With the ESRB rating out of the way, there's a chance Death Stranding 2's PC port could be teased at The Game Awards on December 11. Death Stranding launched as a console exclusive in November 2019, and its PC version surfaced in July 2020. If the same eight-month cadence applies, Death Stranding 2 could be playable on PC as early as February/March 2026.
Those who enjoyed Death Stranding will undoubtedly love its sequel. Death Stranding 2 is, in many ways, a perfect sequel to an already stellar game, and the sooner its console exclusivity ends, the better it is for everyone. Kojima could even surprise us with an Xbox version, but that might take a while.
