Xbox exclusive titles including Indiana Jones likely coming to PS5 and Switch, Microsoft to reveal multi-platform strategy next week
Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has announced that the company will be sharing detailed plans about its “vision for the future of Xbox” in a business update event next week, which is expected to settle the rumours around several popular Xbox titles being made multi-platform. The update was originally meant to be later this month, to share news of Hi-Fi Rush coming to PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, but could now cover Microsoft’s larger strategy for future games.
We're listening and we hear you. We've been planning a business update event for next week, where we look forward to sharing more details with you about our vision for the future of Xbox. Stay tuned.

While there had been talk of Hi-Fi Rush coming to other platforms for a while, it was practically confirmed when data-mined files were found in the latest update that rather strongly hint at a move to both PlayStation and Switch. Sea of Thieves is another exclusive title which, according to several sources, Microsoft will be bringing to other platforms.
XboxEra has cited internal sources claiming that a PS5 launch for Bethesda’s Starfield is being planned. Similar reports have come for Bethesda’s upcoming Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. The Verge reports that Indiana Jones will be launched on Xbox exclusively but will come to PS5 only months later.
I can confirm that the Hi-Fi Rush datamine is legit and these t-shirt texture files are in the game. It looks like Hi-Fi Rush is coming to PS5 and Nintendo Switch https://t.co/hy6BUjOV4Z pic.twitter.com/WjgPk2bIqH

Observers claim to be picking up on an unmistakable trend here: the time gap between the initial launch of major first-party Xbox games and their launch on rival platforms seems to be steadily decreasing. Sea of Thieves was launched 6 years ago, HiFi Rush and Starfield last year and the timeline for Indiana Jones is still tentative.
Over the last few years, senior executives at Microsoft have spoken about “bringing our first-party experiences [and] our subscription services to every screen that can play games”. After the $68.7 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Satya Nadella had said in an interview with Bloomberg, “With Activision I think we have a chance of being a good publisher quite frankly on Sony, Nintendo, PCs, and Xbox.”
While the company has reassured Xbox fans of the exclusivity of its first-party titles from time to time, the reality is that the revenue stream from game sales and service subscriptions is considerably more important than the one from console sales. This is what is understood to have informed recent internal discussions, and could mark a new direction for Microsoft Gaming.
