The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D has just dropped to $419.95 on Amazon, after it hit $429 just 10 days ago. This is now its lowest-ever recorded price to date for the Zen 5 gaming CPU. The deal also includes a free copy of Crimson Desert, which adds extra value without increasing the base cost. Price tracking data from camelcamelcamel shows this is the first time the processor has reached this level on Amazon. The chip originally launched at $479, meaning the current deal gets you a $60 drop from MSRP.
At a hardware level, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D features:
- 8 cores / 16 threads
- Zen 5 architecture
- Up to 5.2 GHz boost clock
- 96 MB L3 cache (3D V-Cache)
- 120 W TDP
- AM5 platform support
This config is more about gaming performance rather than core count, which is AMD’s established X3D approach.
According to our testing, the 9800X3D delivers top-tier gaming performance - it maintains a consistent lead over competing Intel desktop CPUs in CPU-limited scenarios. Our review also notes double-digit performance advantages in some benchmarks, although differences become smaller at higher resolutions where GPU limitations dominate for the most part.
At the same time, gains over the previous 7800X3D are relatively modest, meaning the upgrade is less compelling for existing X3D users. However, for new builds, the chip is still one of the most performance-centered options in its segment.
Also, just like the March 12 deal, you get the newly launched Crimson Desert for zero cost. That game is $70 on its own, and while the reviews are quite divided, it's still one of the biggest releases of 2026 so far. Combined with the CPU pricing, this is a very solid proposition, all-in-all.
